Purpose and profit are no longer understood to be as orthogonal as they once were.
Reflecting on recent events such as COP26, flooding throughout interior BC and continued turmoil resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear that social purpose organizations–for profit and otherwise–have a significant role in shaping our future lives and careers. Socially Responsible and Impact Investing are required to shift capital flows in a way that is conducive to empowering change, and taking social and environmental innovations to the next level.

In recent years, the space has become increasingly complex, inviting both new players as well as novel social finance mechanisms to better drive capital toward solving some of the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges. We welcome you to join us as we explore the latest of these developments and how students can get involved.

WestPeak Research Association (“WestPeak”) is a student-run, non-profit, capital markets group that aims to create quality equity research while enriching the education of its members through active peer mentorship and structured training seminars.
